Current Information:Age-21 274 Cornwall Road, Notting Hill Originally part of 3 Brigade, 1st Division, on 25 July, 1915, 1st Queens (Royal West Surrey) joined 5 Brigade, 2nd Division and immediately took over the front line at Cuinchy near Festubert in France. They were relieved from this position on 29th July after a quiet four days in the line, but enemy shelling of Battalion HQ during this relief resulted in the death of one man, Private Cooper. |
